There are stigma’s and opinions that have long been held by the masses about those who struggle with substance abuse or mental health journeys. Thankfully, now so more than ever, huge groups of these very same strugglers choose to live out loud and share their experiences to reverse the dishonor brought about by it.
Justin McPadden is one of many who’ve dealt with the harsh opinions of those close-minded to the reality. He was personally attacked when another chose to dig up his past, struggles with substance abuse and arrests, to plaster all over social media. They had hopes of bringing his business down however its affect was quite the opposite. Justin posted a video to share the rest of his story, the part where he turned his life around, to combat this persons negative turning it into a positive. From this, The Hope Shot facebook page was born.
Justin goes live on The Hope Shot Facebook page every Wednesday night at 8pm(EST) to share the stories of many people who are living, walking, prime examples of what Addiction to Success looks like. The Hope Shot team: Justin & Tiffani McPadden, John & Lisa Caputo, Nathan Cantie, Janelle Dickson and Cesar & Kellie Rodriguez, go live on the page every Sunday at 8pm(EST) discussing topics related to mental health and recovery.
The Hope Shot team worked together to become a non-profit charity. Their shared passion is to simply help anyone who wants it on their path to recovery. They aim to bridge the gap and connect those with mental health and substance use disorder to resources they need to thrive in society.
The Hope Shot is a RCO (Recovery Community Organization) for their county. They have dreams of creating a hub/center for those with a past seeking peer support, employment opportunities and housing to sustain long term recovery. They’re hoping to also find fresh new ways to bring together the entire community with the recovery community.
